Allen F. Bahn, 91, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Rest Haven-York. He was the husband of Dolores H. (Terry) Bahn of York. Allen and Dolores celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on November 27, 2011.
Born on July 24, 1920, in York, he was the son of the late David and Elsie (Wineka) Bahn.
He was a former dairy farmer and worked for H.G. Sumpman Oil Co., Mailman's Department Store and retired from Dallastown Area School District. Mr. Bahn was a 1939 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and a charter member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the York County Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association. In 1954, he was instrumental in bringing the American Rabbit Breeders Association's 31st Annual Convention and Show to the York Interstate Fairgrounds, York. Allen was devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his family. He was so proud of his family's accomplishments.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children: two sons, Terry Bahn of Hudson, Mass., and David L. Bahn and wife, Cheryl (Jenkins) of Denville, N.J.; a daughter, Betsy B. Page and husband, Michael of York; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former daughter-in-law, Monica (Manning) Corwin of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and a niece and nephews.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
