Alfred P. Bahler, 79, of Wolcott passed away on June 27, 2014 at his home.

He was born on January 17, 1935 in Wolcott to the late Jacob and Emma (Steffen) Bahler. Alfred attended Gilboa School. On February 6, 1955 he married Frances Stoller in Wolcott.

He farmed and raised livestock southwest of Wolcott for most of his life. He also drove a semi hauling grain for Bahler Brothers Trucking for the last 30 years and enjoyed the time he spent doing this. He was a minister at the Apostolic Christian Church of Wolcott for 46 years.

His quiet, gentle spirit and pleasant personality made him many friends throughout the years. He was a special friend to his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a wonderful example of a Christian believer to all he met and his love for his Lord and Savior was always evident.

In addition to his wife, Frances; he is survived by four children: Steve (Brenda) Bahler of Lebanon, Luann (Bob) Gerber, Chris (Teresa) Bahler, Jacob (friend: Holly) Bahler, and a daughter-in-law, Elaine Bahler, all of Wolcott; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Arlene (Ben) Habeggar, Bluffton, Lora Kupferschmidt of Paxton, IL and Janice (Bob) Pfister of Leo; 2 brothers, Elmer (Marilyn) Bahler and Lowell (Karla) Bahler both of Wolcott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Emma Bahler; and a brother-in-law, Dan Kupferschmidt.

Visitation will be 2-9 pm, Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Remington Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall and 9:30 until the time of service at 10:30 am, Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Apostolic Christian Church of Wolcott. Ministers of the church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Wolcott Cemetery, Wolcott.
