Mrs. Baggett was the daughter of Mrs. Marjorie Helen Bagwell and the late Mr. John Daniel Bagwell, both of Corner. Mrs. Baggett was the 1957 valedictorian of Corner High School and a 1961 graduate of Auburn University, where she majored in home economics and was admitted into the Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society. She spent her career working for two family businesses, Spring Valley Farms and Highland House, Inc. In 1960, Mrs. Baggett married her high school sweetheart, the late Mr. William Lawley Baggett Sr., of Corner. They had three children: William Lawley Baggett, Jr. of Atlanta; Belinda Baggett Donovan of Portland, ME; and Rebecca Leigh Baggett of Atlanta. Mrs. Baggett was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter as well as a successful businesswoman. She was also active in the Birmingham Ballet and the Birmingham Museum of Art. Mrs. Baggett was always eager to learn new skills, and took great interest in activities ranging from financial investing to cooking and the decorative arts. She was a loyal supporter of Auburn University, and enjoyed going to Auburn football games for as long as she was physically able. She truly loved life and all of the adventures it offered. In addition to her husband and father, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma Grace Donovan. She leaves behind her mother; her three children and their spouses; her sister, Carol Barron Cross of Stewart, FL; and six granddaughters: Mary Caitlin Baggett, Anna Walker Baggett, Callan Elizabeth Donovan, Hannah Claire Donovan, Maren Grace Donovan, and Katharine June Haspel.
