OBITUARIES, DORLIS BAGWELL
Dorlis Bagwell, 89, of Greenville died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Greencrest Manor. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Matt Richardson and Rev. Johnny Hailes officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bagwell was born Dec. 31, 1915, in Detroit, Texas, the daughter of Elmer and Verda Slade Harris. The family moved to the Black Cat Thicket community in Hunt County in 1921. She was married to Melvin Bagwell on June 28, 1940, in Greenville.
Mrs. Bagwell was a sales clerk; having worked at McClellan's Store for 17 years and T.G. & Y. for 14 years. She retired in 1987. She was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Sue Bagwell of Greenville; granddaughters and husbands, Tracy and Steve Stanford and Angie and Jason Waddle, all of Greenville; a great-grandchild, Taylor Stanford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 28, 1993; parents; brother, Doug Harris on Sept. 22, 1994; and two sisters, Joyce Reeves and Erma Dean Miller on March 2, 2003.
Pallbearers are Kevin Bost, Ronald Combs, Truitt Mays, Jodie Stanford, Wayne Wallace and Robert Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Little, Buddy Nix, Bob Parsons, James Roddy and Robert White.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
