Lawrence Willard Bagwell, 86, of Greenville, died on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, and was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a blessing to all who came in contact with him.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Noah Lewis and Louise Elizabeth Hayes Bagwell, and the husband of the late Mary Nelle Jones Bagwell, to whom he was married for sixty years. A member of Bethel Baptist Church, he was a former Sunday school teacher.

He retired as an assistant overseer at the Monaghan J.P. Stevens Plant, and was a graduate of Parker High School.

Surviving are three daughters, Becky B. Massey of Mauldin and friend Don Connor, Beth B. Bridges (Steve) of Greer, and Bebe B. Levy (Mike) of Columbia; six grandchildren, Stacy Stokes (Mike), Shelly Massey, Brian Bridges, Brooke Bridges, Nick Levy, and Brittany Levy; and two great-grandchildren, Katie and Reagan Stokes. He was predeceased by three brothers, James Manuel Bagwell, Gilbert Lewis Bagwell, and Alvin William Bagwell.

Service will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, West.

Visitation will be 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, before the service, at the funeral home.
