Don passed away in his family home in Waterford after a nine year battle with brain damage. He had many unanswered questions and finally found his peace with God.
Don was born in O'Conner Hospital, San Jose, CA. His parents were Donnie Lee Bagley and Shirley Mae Bagley.
At sixteen, he enlisted in basic training and received his GED through the military.
He met his wife, Barbara Hoehn Bagley in Cupertino CA, and they married in 1980.
Don was a City of Cupertino employee for seven years. Moving to the town of Waterford, he received his DOT and Hazmat Certificates, and began truck-driving for 20/20 Recycle, Crescent Truck Lines and BFI in Livermore. Don didn't mind putting in an 18 hour day and commuting to his home in Waterford.
He was a member of the VFW and Local Teamsters Union. Don also went on to study real estate and worked for Dry Creek Realty in Waterford. He also worked for Coldwell Banker in Oakdale for a short time.
Don's passion for bodybuilding led him to open a gym in 1996. The Weight Room'' in Riverbank, CA brought him success in business and respect from the community. In December, 1999, Don was riding his new Harley Davidson Roadking, and suffered life-threatening injuries and brain damage. Don continued his fight to live for 9 years.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Carde Bagley, daughter, Julie Bagley and son, Brandon Bagley as well as 3 brothers, David Bagley, Daniel Bagley and Douglass Bagley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 1:30 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326.
