Mary Yawn Bagley
(September 2, 1920 - January 3, 2011)
Mary Yawn Bagley, 90, of Waycross died Monday morning (Jan. 3, 2011) at Pierce County Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born in Douglas, Coffee Co, GA to the late Calvin E. Yawn and Sarah Elizabeth Merritt Yawn and lived most of her life in Waycross. Mrs. Bagley was a lifelong member of First Assembly of God, Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the Women Missionary Council.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Dewey Bagley; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Thelma Deloris Sharpe (husband Tony), Charlotte, NC, Dewey Edward Bagley (fiancée Debra), Blackshear, Linda Gail Gregory, Waycross, Minnie Elizabeth Nelson (husband Dennis), Statesboro, GA, Leonard Calvin Bagley (wife Jeanette), Spring Hill, TN, Thomas Daniel Bagley, Madison, TN; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Taylor (husband James), Quitman, GA, Thelma Cochran, Hopewell, VA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
