James D. "Tater" Baggs, 61 of Ludowici, Ga., died Friday March 4, 2011 after an extended illness.

The Long County, Ga. native was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church, a former employee with Intex Corp. of Greenville, S.C., and was most recently a caretaker of Hugh Old River Hunting Club in Long County, Ga.

He was predeceased by his parents: Rondald and Rena Fulton Baggs.

Survivors are 2 daughters: Mary Beth (Glenn) Gordon of Ludowici, Ga., Lacey (Steven) Burnsed of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; a son: Phillip Muse of Santa Margula, California; 7 grandchildren: Hannah and Rebekah Gordon, Brittany Devry, Devren Burnsed, Molly and Emma Muse.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, March 7, 2011 from Ludowici First Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Rentz officiating.

Interment will be in Baggs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Darwin "Possum" Kelly, Leslie Deen, Wynn Dunham, Dale Horne, Stanley Efaw, and Tracy Holvey.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, March 6, 2011 from Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
