Ben W. Baggett, 43 years old, an employee of Florence County, was instantly killed Friday morning when a road tractor he was driving hit a tree stump in the road and turned over on him. Mr. Baggett was a life long resident of the Pamplico community of Florence County and he had been employed by this county for the last three years.

Funeral services will be held at the Beulah Freewill Baptist Church near Salem at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon by the Rev. H. D. McAllister, pastor of the Sardis Baptist Church, the Rev. Miller Mellette, pastor of the church, and the Rev. C. O. Clarke, pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Beulah Church cemetery.

The Waters funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Baggett was born at Pamplico, October 20, 1905, the son of the late B. J. Baggett and Ola Jones Baggett, both also of Pamplico. He was a member of the Beulah Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Bernice Turner Baggett of Pamplico; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Grimsley of Florence, and Miss Ola Mae Baggett; three sons, Legette Baggett, Wm. Earl Baggett and Ronnie J. Baggett, of Pamplico; three sisters, Mrs. W. B. Cacutt of Pamplico, Mrs. C. R. Campbell of Effingham, and Mrs. David Durant of Florence; a brother, W. T. Baggett; four half-brothers, Claude Baggett, Clyde Baggett, Frank Baggett, and B. J. Baggett, all of Pamplico.
