Ellen Jean (Schenck) Baecker, Age 81, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 12:45 a.m. at Tri County Extended Care Center. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on December 11, 1926, the daughter of Elmer and Katherine (Eck) Schenck. She was married to Warren Baecker in the Trenton Lutheran Church on May 17, 1947, and together they had a dairy farm and she kept 500 laying hens, delivering eggs to Hamilton, Middletown and Oxford. She had belonged to Collinsville Grange, MNO Club for 60 years, Starlighters and Farm Bureau. She attended Collinsville Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years; a daughter, Linda Sue (Roy) May and son, William (Mary Jo) Baecker; four grandsons, Scott and Gregg Baecker, Russell (Cassie) May and Robert May; two great grandsons, Ryan and Benjamen May; a sister, Barbara (Herman) Schrock; a sister-in-law, Lenora Schenck and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents and brother, Clifford (Tip) Schenck preceded her in death. Jean cherished a letter she received from Oglesby-Barnitz Bank, when she was only a few months old, stating they were opening a savings account for her, as she was the 6th generation of the Schenck family to have an account there. Later, after graduating from Trenton High school in 1944, she worked at the bank for several years.
