HOULKA - Mattie B. Marble, 93, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at the Trace Regional Hospital in Houston. A native of Chickasaw County, she was born June 21, 1914, to Dillard Bady and Georgia Ann Pulliam. She was a member of Clark Chapel M.B. Church where she was on the Mother's Board. She was the widow of Charlie Marble Sr. She loved to quilt, sew, sigh, travel, go to church and eat.

Services will be at noon Saturday at the Clark Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Joe D. Reel officiating. Burial will be in the East County Line Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five daughters, Essie Cook (James) and Flora Sullivan (Robert), all of Nashville, Tenn., Allean Hatchett (Bill), Shirley Virges (K.C.), and Mattie Below (Joel), all of Houston; one son, Charlie Marble Jr. of Houlka; one sister, Mallie Mae Hatchett of Houlka; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charles Marble, Willie Hatchett, Chris Hatchett, Chuckie Virges, Jeremy Freelon and Jeffrey Sullivan.

Visitation will be from noon until 6e p.m. today at the funeral home.
