Alice James Badley
Sept. 20, 1922 - Oct. 7, 2009

Alice J. Badley, 87, of Dallas died Oct. 7.

She was born in San Francisco to Dr. Morris A. S. and Eleanor J. Frank.

The family moved to Grants Pass while Alice was in her teens. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1940.

She married Owen "Duke" Badley on July 15, 1942. While he served his country during World War II, Alice worked at the Rogue River Hardware Store in Grants Pass. They later moved to Klamath Falls, where she was actively involved in volunteer work and was an instructor for the aquatic arthritis class at YWCA. She also was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Grants Pass and Klamath Falls.

Alice was active in the community and loved by all who knew her. But for Alice, family was always her first priority. She was a compassionate person who cared deeply for those around her.

The family enjoyed camping and spending time together. Later in life, Alice and Duke enjoyed traveling to various bombardier group gatherings from Duke's World War II days.

Duke died in 1992 and Alice moved to Eugene in 2001 and then to Dallas in 2008 to be closer to family.

Survivors include her son, Kim Owen Badley of Springfield; daughter, Kaye Louise Houk of Monmouth; brother, Sidney James Frank of Eugene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Contributions are suggested to the Aquatic Arthritis Class at the YWCA in Klamath Falls in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center, which handled arrangements.
