Dr. Charles Badger was born in the town of Kingsbury, Washington County, N. Y., on June 21, 1824, and died in North Loup, Neb., on Dec. 19, 1906. Had he lived until his next birthday he would have been eighty-three years old.

Charles was reportedly the first doctor and the first county school superintendent in Valley County, Nebraska. And his daughter was reportedly the first teacher in Valley County.
