Alfred Stanley Bacon Jr. Age 82, Brownsburg, passed away on December 3, 2013. Born to the Reverend Alfred Stanley Bacon and Marguerite Smith Bacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty Jean Bacon, his children Marcia Bacon Herzog, Ronald Stanley (Darlene) Bacon, Debra Bacon Atkinson; brother Willard (Mary) Bacon; five grandchildren Jennifer (Anthony), Dustin (Lorrie), Holly (Alan), Valerie (Walt), Sarah (Nathan); ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Stan Bacon, as he was known by all, was born in Stockholm, New Jersey. He lived in several places growing up. He joined the Air Force and finished his service to his country in the Army. He married Betty in 1953 while working at Caterpillar Tractor Co. After three children they moved to Kent, Washington where he worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. They decided to move closer to family and moved to Brownsburg, IN where he went to work for Allison Transmission Co. They moved to Paducah, KY working for Union Carbide for two years and then back to Brownsburg where he retired from Allison. Stan was active in the American Legion Post 331, the 40/8, and the Sertoma Club. Stan was dearly loved by his family and friends, and his love and generosity will be remembered by all.
