He Graduated from Wayne High School in 1967, Wayne State College, and received his Master's Degree at Wayne State College in 1980. He then began teaching.
He married Janey Kellogg in May of 1975 at the Lutheran Church in Decatur, NE. They later divorced.
Surviving him is one daughter, Jennifer and her husband and one grandson, as well as two brothers, Verdel and Perry and their wives.
Services were held Oct. 24, 2005 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Wayne, NE followed by burial in the Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield, NE.
