Zelma S. Backman LEXINGTON-Services for Zelma S. Backman, 88, will be held 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Backman passed away June 6, 2014. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Pearl Smith. She was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. Surviving is her husband of 68 years, James "Jim" Vernon Backman, sons, Leonard (Peggy), Roger (Sylvia), and Danny (Gwen) Backman, daughter, Debbie (Jakie) Kyzer, sister, Betty (Earl) Outlaw, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boiling Springs UMC Covered Walkway Fund.
