Annie Bell Back was born January 19, 1874 at Morris, Missouri; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Back. During her early years they moved to Kansas where she grew to womanhood. When living at Americus, Kansas she was united in marriage with Henry L. Spellman on December 17, 1892. To this union three daughters were born - Dollie, Minnie and Bertha.
In 1910 they moved from Kansas to Kelso, Washington, residing there four years then moving to Lost Springs, Wyoming in 1914. Here they resided until the death of her husband. Following his death she made her home with her daughters until she was united in marriage September 23, 1947 with Ernest Ayres of Glendo. They made their home on a ranch east of Glendo until the time of her death.
She is survivwed by her husband, Ernest Ayres; three daughters, Mrs. Harry Watson of Fowler, Colo.; Mrs. Roy McCormick of Glendo, and Mrs. Louie Meinzer of Casper; one sister, Mrs. Mary Nix of Ranier, Ore.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
