ETHEL I. BACHTELL, 83, of Rt. 2, died Friday afternoon at the Colton Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown. She was the widow of Arthur K. Bachtell.
Born in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of Joseph and Clara Cline Toms.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Smithsburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harriet V. Rudisill of Glen Burnie, Mrs. Charlotte F. St. Clair of Hagerstown and Mrs. Elaine M. Gossard of Smithsburg; one son, Arthur K. Bachtell, Jr. of Cavetown; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg with the Rev. R. Paul Doherty officiating. Burial will be in the Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
