Clara Baca, age 62, a resident of Clovis, formerly of Belen, NM passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Retirement Ranch. Clara was born on April 19, 1950 in Tome, NM to Carmen and Onofre Baca. Clara graduated from Belen High School. Clara was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Community in Portales, NM. Clara loved going to the casino and made friends everywhere she went. Clara liked to make arts and crafts and work variety puzzle books. Clara was president of the residents council at the nursing homes and won the title of Valentines Queen at Princeton Place. Clara will be missed dearly by those who knew her. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pat Montoya and a brother, Frank Baca. Clara is survived by her daughter, Carmen Polk and her husband, Luis, her son, Santos Polk and his wife, Cindy, two grandsons, four granddaughters, sisters, Betty Sanchez and her husband, Olojio, Ida Ortiz and her husband, Tony, Cordelia Grady and her husband, Shaun, Jennifer Baca, Luga Calles, Emma Sedillo and Helen Aragon and her husband, Pedro and brothers, Richard Lopez and his wife, Priscilla, "Baby Brother" Odelio 'Odie' Baca and his wife, Teresa, Antonio Baca and Ramon Baca and his wife, Fela and two grand-dogs, "Toto" and "Austin".
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. A very special thanks to Retirement Ranch for their loving care and attention to our mother. Warm regards to Princeton Place in Albuquerque and their activities director Faith. And a special thank you to VistaCare Hospice for their tender loving care.
