Jacqueline Baca passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the tender age of 22. She was born on Jan. 26, 1984.
Jacqueline was a strong-willed child, never letting her illness get the best of her. She loved to travel and experience life and never forgot where she came from. Her favorite memory was the day she appeared on "The Jerry Springer Show" in Chicago, Ill. She was a 2002 graduate of Los Lunas High School and was currently attending UNM/TVI.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Baca.
Jacqueline is survived by her mother, Laurie Lozoya of Los Lunas; fiance, Michael D'Angelo of Los Lunas; six brothers and sisters whom she loved and took great pride in caring for, Crystal Baca of Tallahassee, Fla., Evangeline, Juanita, Julian and Joe-Angel Baca and Jonathon Moore, all of Los Lunas; she was the pride and joy of her grandparents, Manuel "Nelo" and Josephine "Fefa" Baca; aunts and uncles, Liz Otero and her husband, Tony, Steve Baca and his wife, Bernadette, Manuel Baca and his wife, Gina, and Frank Chavez all of Los Lunas, Mary Lou Baca of Belen, Burt Moore and his wife, Bernadette, of Los Lunas and Norma Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.; great-aunts and uncles, Herman Baca Jr. and his wife, Miquela, of Los Lunas, Mary Franco and her husband, Arnold, of Albuquerque, and Ida Cruz of Vista, Calif.; cousins, Dominic Otero, Greg Otero and his wife, Charity, Antonio Otero and his wife, Lisa, Jose and Tasa Otero, and Adam, Chris, Nick and Beverly Baca, Tiffany Reeves, Felicia and Brittany Allen, and Alycia, Angelica and Amber Moore; numerous great-cousins and great-great-cousins.
Her family wrote: "Hold fast to your memories, to all of the cherished moments of the past, to the blessings and the laughter, the joys and the celebrations, the sorrow and the tears. They all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays that you shared and spent together, and they keep the one you loved close to you in spirit and thought."
Cremation has taken place. All services will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church with a visitation on Tuesday, Jan. 16, with a rosary following. A final visitation take place on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at San Clemente Catholic Cemetery.
