Grace K. Babson, wife of Roger W Babson, News Columnist, passed away at her home in Wellesley Hills, Mass., from a cerebral hemorrhage. She married Roger W Babson in 1900 and started in a small house that served as home and office for a combined rental of $22 per month. With thrift, patience and courage, and without any gifts from him or ever borowing a penny, she developed her own savings of $600 into millions. Most of her money has been given to economic, educational and religious institutions. Among these are the Babson Institute, Webber College and Midwest Institute.
Mrs. Babson's father, Rev. Richard Knight of Holyoke, Mass. was very active in getting his anti-slavery friends to settle in Kansas during the Civil War.
