Walter S. Bable, 81, of 227 Chestnut St., Kittanning, died unexpectedly at 10:45 Saturday morning in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted one hour earlier. His death was caused by an apparent heart seizure. A former meter reader for T. W. Phillips Gas Co., of Butler, Mr. Bable retired in 1955. He belonged to the Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning and was a member of the John Orr Bible Class. He was a member of the MORA club at the Armstrong County YMCA and the American Legion of Kittanning. A veteran of World War I. Mr. Bable lived in Kittanning for the past 42 years. He was born in Carnegie, Pa. on Oct. 6, 1889, son of the late William and Elizabeth Jane (McCombs) Bable. Surviving are his wife, Cathryn (Wyant) Bable; a stepson, Stewart McNutt of Wesford; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Howard (Mary Louise) Summers of Rochester, Pa., Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Lightbody of Kittanning RD 1 and Mrs. B. J. (Joanne) Mine of Freedom; 13 step, grandchildren; and 25 step great-grandchildren. BABLE - Friends of Walter S. Bable, who died April 3, 1971, are being received at Bauer Funeral Home, Kittanning, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be from the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, conducted by the Rev. Jerry E. Flanigan, pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church. Assisting him will be the Rev. Lawrence R. Camberg, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Adrian. Burial will follow in Tidal Union Cemetery, Madison Twp. Arrangements by Bauer.
