Anita B. Anthony, 97, passed away on February 27 in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with her nephew Dickie Babitzke officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Anthony was active in church and community activities in Spearman as well as in The Craig in Amarillo.
She was born in Ellis County, Oklahoma, November 12, 1914, to Christian and Christiana Babitzke. She grew up in Lipscomb County, Texas. Of the twelve children born to this union, she is survived by a brother, Chris, of Canadian, Texas and a sister, Erna Gragert of Phoenix, AZ.
Anita married Harry F. Schoenhals on May 12, 1934, in Arnett, Oklahoma. Survivors are a daughter, Roberta Conyers of Amarillo, and two sons, Eugene and wife Christine of Panhandle, and Garner and wife Jean of Canadian. Also six grand children, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She then married L.L. Anthony in 1964 and lived in Spearman until his death and then moved to The Craig in Amarillo in 1998.
Memorials may be given to any charity.
