Last rites were held at 11:15 a.m. Sunday (June 3, 1979) in the St. Peter's Catholic Church here for Mrs. Leon Babineaux, 69, the former Cecile Leger, who died at 11:37 p.m. Friday at her residence in Carencro.
Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro.
The Rev. Roy D. Edwards officiated the services.
Survivors include three sons, Cleon, Lester and Howard Babineaux, Sr., all of Carencro; one daughter, Mrs. Elus (Rena) Cormier of Carencro; two brothers, Paul Legere of Cankton and Leo Legere of Carencro; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Guidroz of Lafayette, Mrs. Anatole Cormier of Port Allen, MRs Jack Royer of Cankton and Mrs. Cleman Babineaux of Carencro; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Cleon, Lester and Howard Babineaux, Sr., Caroll Babineaux, Paul Legere and Francis Cormier.
