Helen J. Babel, age 81, of Delta, Ohio, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at Fulton County Health Center.
Helen was born September 11, 1925, in Connellsville, PA to Sanford and Sophie (Farrah) Morris. Helen was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She belonged to the Wauseon V.F.W. Post 7424 Ladies Auxiliary, the D.A.V., and Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE #2597, Delta, Ohio.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Jim W. Babel; sons, Dale A. Cable, Naples, FL, Keith E. (Sofie) Bettinger, Palo Alto, CA; stepdaughters, Darlene (Len) Syrek, Toledo, OH, Terri J. (Jack) Craib, Maidson Heights, MI; daughter-in-law, Brenda McCulley; grandchildren, Josh and Cort Cable, Kim Pajer, Darwin Bettinger and Amber Cable; step grandchildren, Tami (Steve) Spangler, Melenie (Brian) Nelson, Matt and Bill Behrens; step great-grandchildren, Preston Spangler, Michael and Sophia Nelson. Helen was preceded in death by parents and son, James Craig Cable (2003).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2007, from 2-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc., 5300 N. Summit St. (419.726.1583). Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2007, in the funeral home. Pastor Phil Park-Thomas will be officiating. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
