Alena Juanita (Babb) Campbell, 76, of Greenville, SC, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

A native of Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Elmore Babb and Sybil (Pressley) Babb, and the late Myrtie (Kay) Babb.

Retired from Fiber Industries, she was a faithful member of Trinity Fellowship Church and enjoyed singing with her church choir. Above all, she was devoted to and found great joy in her family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, William Lowell Campbell Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, June Karen (Kaye) and Michael Wayne Southerland of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, William Stephen and Deborah Merck Campbell of Greenville; grandchildren, Zach and Stephanie Southerland, Brittany and Alysha Southerland, Heath and Heather Campbell, and Chase and Devin Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Benton Southerland, Reece Campbell and Madison Greene, all of Greenville

Also surviving are her siblings, Martha and Ralph Moody of Greenville, Frances and Edward Holliday of Belton, Sybil and Billy Smith of Hickory Tavern, Edgar and Marsha Babb of Shelby, NC, Gary and Diane Babb of Canton, GA, and Brenda Babb Prince of Greenville; and many other extended family members who loved her.

She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Linda Gail Campbell.

Funeral services were Sunday, October 9, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation prior to the service, from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. Committal was in Woodlawn Memorial Park Remembrance Chapel.

Mrs. Campbell's grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Memorials could be made to the Upstate Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601; or to Trinity Fellowship Church, 1700 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

She will be deeply missed by all whose heart she has touched. Nanny, we love you, and we find comfort in the knowledge that you are at peace in God's glory.
