Jeremy Todd Burton Baatz, 35, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital.

Todd was born May 15, 1978, in Indianapolis; he was the son of Jerry and Vanessa (Palmer) Burton.

Survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; sons, Jeremy Tyler Baatz of Greenwood and Ryan Baatz of St. Paul; daughters, Makayla Baatz and Ruby Baatz, both of St. Paul; brothers, Joshua (wife, Debbie) Baatz and Frankie G. (wife, Carrie Bell) Burton, both of Shelbyville, and Travis Lee (wife, Melissa) Burton of Waldron; sister, Amber Burton Vandergriff of Shelbyville; grandfather, Charlie Palmer of Shelbyville; grandmother, Janet Baatz of Middletown; uncle, Jerry (wife, Renee) Palmer of Waldron and Charles Raymond (wife, Janet) Palmer of Indianapolis; aunts, Kelly (husband, George) Paddon of Columbus,Kay (husband, Mark) Settles of New Palestine, Patty (husband, Donnie) Beals of Shelbyville and Candy Milbourn of Middletown; nieces and nephews, Landan, Ethan, Dominic, Zachary, Andrew, McKenzie, Weston, Quinton, Gabby, Jessica, Lilly, Sara, Logan and Madison; and mother of Jeremy Tyler, Heather Smeltzer of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, Kenneth Burton and Lloyd Baatz; and great-grandparents, Norman and Hazel Palmer.

Todd loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his riding buddies, he was an avid rider with Rough Riders. He also enjoyed scrapping and playing the guitar and singing.

When Todd was outside, the neighborhood children enjoyed visiting with him daily.
