Daniel Glen Blevins
1914-2003
Daniel Glen Blevins, 88, of Louisa, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Blevins was born September 11, 1914, in Lawrence County, Ky., a son of the late Daniel H. and Virtoria Ward Blevins. He was a retired dairy famer and a cattleman on a farm recently recognized by the Louisa Rotary Club as one of the oldest family farms in Lawrence County.
He was a member of the Garrett Chapel Methodist Church, where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and lay speaker.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Blevins, and a sister, Ruby Cordle.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Bertha Mae Pennington Blevins; one son, Daniel H. Blevins and his wife Marsha of Ashland, Ky.; two daughters, Glenna Young and her husband Max of Lexington, Ky., and Karen Walters and her husband Bill of Catlettsburg, Ky.; three grandchildren, Vikki Franklin of Lexington, Ky., Dr. Marshall Glen Blevins of Ashland, Ky., and Allison Blevins of Lexington, Ky.; and three great-grandchildren Curtis and Ella Glynn Franklin and Leah Kathryn Blevins.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at 2 pm, message to be delivered by Frank Wallace, assisted by Keith Crum and Stan Williams, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum.
Friends may call Saturday from 12:30 to 2 pm at the funeral home.
