Clifford Gene Blevins, 72, of Palatka went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at the Malcolm Randall Veterans Administration Hospital in Gainesville following an extended illness.
He was a native of West Virginia and had been a resident of Palatka for the past 38 years, coming from Cleveland, Ohio. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had owned and operated Cliff's Vinyl Service in Palatka for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Palatka and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3349 in Palatka. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Clara Blevins and Sally Blevins; his parents Louis and Lona Blevins; one son, Bobby Gene Blevins, and one sister, Joyce Asbury.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Crystal Blevins and Johnny and Emily Blevins, all of Palatka; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nora and Allen Blount of Bostwick and Rita and Steve Trivette of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three stepsisters, Bonnie DuBois of Mira Loma, Calif., Connie Moon of Lake Placid and Kitty Myers of Perkesie, Pa.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Oakie Blevins of Paynesville, W.Va., the Rev. Jim and Lois Blevins of East Palatka and Clarence and Joyce Blevins of Cleveland; 16 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services with military honors will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Masters Funeral Home of Palatka, with the Rev. Jim Blevins officiating.
