Redkey, Ind., Oct. 6.--Mrs. Alice Ayres, 73, widow of C.C. Ayres, former Redkey Lumber Company operator, died at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Jay County Hospital. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Monday, following an extended illness.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Neagle of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mrs. J.M. Wilhite of Gas City, and Mrs. Eula Bonnell of Newcomerstown, O.; two brothers, L.C. Nicholson of Indianapolis, and Thomas Nicholson of Los Angeles, Cal.; three stepdaughters, Miss Blanche Ayres and Mrs. Hazel McDaniel, both of Dunkirk, and Mrs. Marguerite Bradley of Fort Wayne, and four stepsons, James Ayres of Tipton, Paul Ayres of Dunkirk, Leroy Ayres of Albany, and Edward Ayres of Redkey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church, in charge of the Rev. E.S. McKee, pastor. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. The body will be removed to the home from the Jones mortuary Thursday evening.
