Larry J. Ayers, 67, of Somerville, Texas, formerly of Florence, Texas, passed away suddenly Friday, June 4, 2010 in Caldwell, Texas.

He was born November 29, 1942, in Paragould, the son of Chris Ray Ayers and Juanita Nooner. He served his country in the United States Army as a private. He was a loving husband, father and a disciple of Jesus Christ. He also served Christ as an ordained minister.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Sue Ayers of Somerville, Texas; son, Kevin Jay Ayes and wife, Stephanie, of Somerville, Texas; two daughters, Evon Jennette Baran and husband, Allen, of Georgetown, Texas, and Angela Lynn Malensky and husband, Steve, of Florence, Texas; seven grandchildren, Adam, Uriyah, Dylan, Devon, Stevie, Isabella and Katie; three sisters, Betty Wynelle Lovelady of Florissant, Mo., Patsy Ruth Smothers of Paragould and Wilma Sue Uttley of Kaufman, Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to David Lawrence Missions thru Cornerstone Memorial at Bank of America.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11th, at The Community Chapel in Lyons, Texas, with Rev. Dan Davis officiating. The family will receive guests Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas.
