Lee was born in Randolph, KS. Passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Shawnee Co, KS. Was the son of Elmer P. and Lucile E. (Carlson) Axelton. He was raised in Oleburg community where he graduated from the Olsburg High School. Kathryn Louise Peterson was unted in marriage in Olesburg on December 31, 1950. She survives of the home. During the Korean War, Lee served in the US Army as a Medic. He later worked for Manhatten Auto Supply, Helzberg Diamonds, Dupont, Shawnee Builders, Lee's Kitchen Cabinets, and retired from Cotton O'Neil in January of this year. Lee was member of Masonic Lodge #90, Arab Temple Shrine, Moose Lodge #555, and the VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking and cooking. Other survivors include his son Ron L. Axelton and fiance Shelly Herold, daughters, Sharon K. Moore and husband, Rick, Karen S. Arney and husband, Tom, all of Topeka Sherryl LA. Coufal and husband, David of Hiawatha, 4 grand daughters, 4 grandsons, five great grandchildren and two sisters, Martha L. Erichson and Lois I. Axelton, both of Topeka. Memorial services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church with intermet at the Rochester Cemetary.
