Viola Ruth Awalt, 69, of Corsicana passed away Saturday, July 24, 1999 at her residence.

Visitation is being held today at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church of God in Corsicana, with Dr. Gary Johnson and the Rev. Harvey Hallmark officiating.

Interment will follow at Cade Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lester Awalt, Chester Williams, Jon Phillips, Marvin Young, Bill Bridger and Greg Bridger.

Mrs. Awalt was born in Mankato, Kan. on May 17, 1930.

She was a homemaker and member of First Pentecostal Church of God in Corsicana.

Mrs. Awalt was precede in death by her sons, Thomas Ray and James Kelly Awalt, and her parents, Fred Madison and Amy McEntire of Colorado.

Mrs. Awalt is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ray Awalt of Corsicana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lester and Tammy Awalt of Dallas, and Ray Jr. and Sheila Awalt of Wortham; two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Virginia and Larry Jacobs of Mexia, and Sherry and Allen Sandlin of Wortham; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Freda Lee and Bobby Teer of Corsicana, and Annie Mae and A.J. Bottenberg of Greeley, Colo.; a step-sister and her husband, Lois and Tommy Thompson of Omaha, Neb.; two aunts, Ollie Sanders of Kansas and Viola Bird of Colorado; and 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
