Obituary for Alpha M. Avery. Kansas City Star. Kansas City, MO. September 12, 1994 . Alpha Mae Avery, 93, Prescott, Kan., died Sept. 10, 1994, at a hospital in Fort Scott, Kan. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Prescott United Methodist Church; burial in the Battlefield cemetery, near Pleasanton, Kan. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Torneden Coffel Chapel, Pleasanton. The family suggests contributions to church memorial fund. Mrs. Avery was a lifelong Prescott area resident. She was a school teacher in rural schools. She was a 60-year member of the United Methodist Church, Presc ott. She was a charter member of the Prescott Economic Home Unit. Survivors include two sons, Earl Avery, Prescott, and Dale Avery, Pleasanton; a brother, Wayne Miller, Prescott; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
