She loved her home and was a good homemaker and cook. Her apple pie and Italian Cream Cake were well known among friends and family. She was a faithful member of the Mangum Church of Christ and enjoyed her volunteer work at the Mangum City Hospital and Democratic Women's Club. She was a passionate bridge player and enjoyed card games with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters and seven grandchildren; Rafe Avery, Arlington, TX; Stephanie Avery, Wichita Falls, TX; Gavin Avery, Norman OK; Avery Sullivan, Santa Cruz, CA; Anna Sullivan, Santa Cruz, CA; Sarah Clarke, Santa Rosa, CA and Rachel Clarke, Oakland, CA. She was one of nine children and is survived by one sister, Bonnie Berry of Altus, OK.
She loved her home in Mangum, OK but due to ill health, she moved to California to live with her daughter, Pam, for the last few years of her life.
A memorial service was held at the Mangum Church of Christ at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 29, 2011. Arrangements were under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home.
