LYONS--Roy C. Avery, 60, died Friday at Thomas School, north of Lyons, after an apparent heart attack. Born Aug. 21, 1908, at Lyons, he married Ruth Schlotterbeck June 23, 1935, at Chickasha, Okla. He was a field representative of the Kansas Department of Agriculture. He had been a life-long resident here. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lyons and Masonic Lodge. Survivors include the widow; daughter, Mrs. Carol A. Hughes, Tulsa, Okla.; son, Dick, Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren."
