AUSTIN AVERY, 89, Hamilton, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2006. Born on November 3, 1916, in Alabama, he was the son of the late James and Ida Belle Palmer Avery. He was previously employed by Federal Mogul and was a World War II Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Etta Britt and Ludie and Evie Avery.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at 2 p.m. from the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the New Hope Cemetery in Hamilton. Bro. W.T. Allison was the officiating minister.
Survivors include his wife - Mary Dean Avery; children - Doris Pearce and Kenny (Pam) Avery, both of Hamilton; grandchildren - Phillis (Terry) Diggers, South Carolina, Susan (Jerry) Spann, Winfield and Angie (Michael) Nash, Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister - Arvilla Clark, Pekin, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
