Sarah Elizabeth L. Averett

Mt. Pleasant - Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Larter Averett, 77, died Monday morning at the family home at 305 South Fourth East street after a long illness incident to age.

Mrs. Averett was born in Moroni September 14, 1865, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Armitage Larter. Her mother died when Mrs. Averett was only six weeks old and she was reared in the family of John and Susanna Barton. She was married to William Alma Averett March 13, 1883, and they were the parents of nine children. Mr. Averett died September 19, 1941.

Mrs. Averett served many years as a Relief Society teacher in the South L D S ward.

She is survived by three sons, Alden Averett of Hemet, Cal.; Royal Averett and Lynne Averett, city policeman of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of Jacobs mortuary.
