Lela Belle Austin Aldredge, 89, of Antioch, CA, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Belle was born to the late Willie Wayne and Ruby Opal Austin on June 20, 1921 in Slater, MO. Belle graduated from Marshall High School in 1938. She married Charles Daniel "Dan" Aldredge in 1939 and they lived together in Marshall, MO before relocating to California in 1942.
Belle was a homemaker and also worked for Kaiser Permanente in the 'Central Appointments' department. She loved her contribution there until she retired in 1980.
She was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, and a caring friend to all who met her. Belle was an active member of Church On The Hill in Vallejo, CA for nearly thirty years.
She loved to travel, and took cruises and several road trips with her husband and family in her lifetime. The most important thing in Belle's life was her family and she relished every family dinner or reunion that she attended or hosted. She was at her happiest and best with her family surrounding her.
Belle is survived by her husband, Dan; three children: Danny, of Otis Orchards, WA; Chuck, of Livermore, CA; and Beth, of Benicia, CA. She also is survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, her brother Wayne Austin of Ellicott City, MD and her sister Clara Hubbard of Modesto, CA. Belle was preceded in death by her brothers Wilbur Austin of Marshall, Missouri and Rev. Eugene Austin of Mansfield, Ohio.
Burial will be-private, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at: Skyview Memorial Lawn, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo, CA. A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the same location.
