— Deacon Albert C. Austin, Sr., age 71, of Austin Rd., Hatchechubbee, AL, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at his home. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 12:00 noon CST at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Battle and Battle Funeral Home.
- Deacon Austin was born May 2, 1938 in Hatchechubbee, AL to the late Carrie P. Austin and the late Johnnie Austin, Sr. He was retired. Deacon Austin was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge 549 and also a member of the Eastern Star, NAACP and the Hatchechubbee Volunteer Fire Department.
- He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy M. Austin of Hatchechubbee, AL; sons, Austin C. (Pamela) Austin, Jr., Kenneth Austin, Timothy Austin, all of Hammond, IN, Winifred (LeShiki) Austin of Glendale, AZ, Steven (Lula) Austin of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Valerie Jefferson, Janice (Derrick) Young, Cassandra (Ernest) Bolden and Renee Austin, all of Hammond, IN; and one brother, Johnnie Austin, Jr., of Milwaukee, WI.
