Forest City - Betty Lucille Buckner Gaddy Austin, 85, formerly of Swannanoa and Winter Haven, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Autumn Care of Forest City.

A native of Rutherfordton County she was the wife of the late John Gaddy and Bill Austin. She was the daughter of the late Pritchard S. and Rosanna Rumfelt Buckner. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Maryrose Gaddy; sons Johnny Paul Gaddy, David Norman Buckner, Terry Wayne Buckner; sisters Elizabeth Wing, Pauline Buckner; brothers Earl Buckner, Norman Buckner; and grandson Frank Martin Gaddy.

She moved from the area in 1979 to Winter Haven, Fla., and was a member of the South Side Baptist Church in Mulberry, Fla. She was a lady of a kind and gentle spirit and was well loved by all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Jayne Snell of Edgarton, W. Va.; sisters Patsy Arrington and Carolyn Davis, both of Swannanoa; great grandson; Marcus Allen Gaddy.

Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
