Mamie Lee Mays, 85, died at 11:57 a.m. Jan. 7, 2012, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Greenwood, Miss., to Willie Austin and Amy Brown, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mays was a homemaker. She was a member of Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a nurse's aide.
Survivors include two sons, William (Martha) Terry, of Lima, and Vaughn (Linda) Terry, of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Edna E. (James) McLaurin, Tracy (Robert) Lee, Janice (Larry Peterson) Seay, Kimberly Mays and Karen (Greg) Mays-Long, all of Lima; and 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Mays; a brother, Willie Brown; a sister, Bobbie Pilcher; and her stepfather, George Brown.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Toney will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
