Birth: Dec. 8, 1826
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Aug. 19, 1908
Sunbury
Northumberland County
Pennsylvania, USA

The son of George & Wilhelmina (Bobb) Aurand, he married Mary R. unk. and fathered Amanda E. (b. 1850), William Clarence (b. @1856), Wilson (b. @1862), and Hayes F. (b. @1868). In 1850, he was living in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania, but is not found in the 1860 census. A boat builder by trade, he stood 5' 5" tall and had black hair and blue eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Harrisburg February 28 and mustered into federal service there March 3 as a private with the 192nd Pennsylvania Infantry but not assigned to a company. Shortly thereafter, he transferred to the second organization of Co. I, 87th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company June 29, 1865. The 192nd company register claims he was thirty-nine years old, but the 87th register claims twenty-seven.

Cause of death is listed as "paralysis."
