HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP — Alice Marie Aukerman, age 94, of Harpersfield Township, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing And Rehab in Madison, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Westpark, Ohio, to Mabel (DuMound) and George Sylvester. She married Ray Olin Aukerman in Cleveland, Ohio on Dec. 7, 1935.

Alice was a sales Clerk in Gift and China Depts. at the May Co. and Carlisle's Department Stores. She was a charter member and first President of Geneva F.O.E. #2243. She was a charter member of Harpersfield Cinderellas, former member of Grace Notes Comedy Band and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1981. Alice enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters; Emily (Richard) Savel and Mabel "Hootie" (Rel) DeAngelis, both of Harpersfield Township; five granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Aukerman; her parents; brothers, Edward, James, George and Robert Sylvester; and sisters, Beulah Warmuth and Ruth Kapferer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., TODAY, August 2nd, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 3rd, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Hitchcock, of Geneva First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Alexander Harper Cemetery, Unionville, Ohio.

Contributions may be made to Geneva First United Methodist Church, South Harpersfield Methodist Church, Cardinal Woods Activity Fund or Odyssey Hospice.

THEIR DAUGHTER:
Mabel Suzanne "Hootie" (Aukerman) DeAngelis, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016, with her family by her side.
She was born on July 11, 1942, to Ray O. and Alice M. Aukerman.
Mabel was a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother, she taught Sunday school at Harpersfield United Methodist Church and participated in the Harpersfield Fire Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Lions Club, ABWA, and Methodist Women. She owned and operated "More Than Flowers", for many years and continued to make floral arrangements after retiring. She enjoyed dancing, crafting, baking and camping. She never sat still and was always busy with something.
She is survived by her husband, Aurelio "Rel" DeAngelis, whom she married June 1, 1963; daughters, Debbie DeAngelis of Warren, Anna (Mike) Geis of Delta, and Renee Noaker of Geneva; grandchildren, Allyson, Megan and Ashley Pierson, Keith Noaker, and Aubrey, Michael and Bradley Geis; great-grandson, Weston; and her sister, Emily (Richard) Savel of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was a character and will be missed by the awesome staff of Swanton Valley Nursing Home.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Grace Chapter #11 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship Fund, District 1, 68 S. Eagle St., Geneva, Ohio 44041.
