E. Charlene Augspurger, 79, Chenoa, died at 10:19 a.m. Friday (May 9, 2008) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Mrs. Augspurger was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Chenoa, the daughter of Alvyn and Eleanor Wiedinger Schopp. She married Marlow E. Augspurger on Aug. 12, 1948, in Chenoa. He died May 4, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters, Marlene Augspurger, Sheila Murphy and Debra (Dan) Ehrhardt, all of Chenoa; one brother, Jerome Schopp, LeRoy; two sisters, Genevieve Boian, Normal, and Imogene Marlin, Madison, Wis.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Augspurger received her teacher's certificate from Illinois State Normal University. She was employed as a legal secretary at the law office of William Fehr and later worked for Caughey, Legner and Freehill attorneys-at-law. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chenoa, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
