Info from death cert. & MEMORIAL & BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF MCLENNAN, FALLS, BELL, AND CORYELL COUNTIES, TEXAS publ. 1893
"Daughter of Robert B. and Elizabeth (Rice) Lewis. her father, a native of Virginia , was left an orphan in infancy, and was reared by an aunt. He was married to Elizabeth Duncan, and they had 7 children, only 2 of whom now survive. The wife and mother died about 1848, and in 1851 Mr. Lewis married Elizabeth Rice, by whom he had 6 children, 3 now living. The father was a self-educated man, and taught school a number of years, during which time he took up civil engineering, and surveyed vast tracts of land in Texas. He was a soldier in the Mexican War, and died in 1868. The mother was twice married, first to James Ghormley and they had 2 children, only one now living. Mr. Ghormley lost his life in the Confederate service, and the mother still survives, residing in Limestone Co. TX. "
