YORK Caroline E. Attig, 88, of Manchester Township, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at The York Lutheran Home in the Village at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Barto L. Attig, Sr.

Born August 21, 1918, in New Freedom, she was a daughter of the late Sylvanus and Mary (Walker) Royston. She had worked as a cosmetician at the former Bear's Department Store, and was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Attig is survived by two sons, Ronald M. Attig and his wife, Suzanne of Wilmington, N.C., and Barto L. Attig, Jr. of Saint George, Utah; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Merle Royston of York. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Royston.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Mount Rose Cemetery with her pastor, the Rev. Stanley Reep, officiating.
