A funeral for George Charles Attebery of Sheridan will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mel Byers officiating.
Interment will be in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan.
Mr. Attebery died Dec. 8, 2001, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. He was 82.
He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Mena, Ark.
He and Jenny were married Oct. 27, 1940, in Hatfield, Ark. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
He moved to Lyons in 1946. He lived in several communities before settling in 1970 in Sheridan, where he opened a barber shop. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Masonic Lodge. Family members said he loved the Bible and spent many hours reading the scriptures.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Martin Attebery of Willamina and Charlie Attebery of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
