Monon Man dead in crash
Charles Atkinson, 34, of Monon was killed in a White County crash Saturday night but the wreckage was not discovered until Sunday morning, county police said.
Police say they believe Atkinson's vehicle slide through the intersection of two rural roads and left the pavement, struck a tree and broke in half on impact.
Atkinson was thrown out of the vehicle, police said. nearby residents discovered the wreck at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Charles D. Atkinson, 35, Monon, passed away Sunday morning, the victim of an automobile accident.
Born in Watseka, Ill., Jan. 20, 1950, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Atkinson, Remington, both of whom survive.
He attended Remington schools and the Remington Baptist Church.
He was married in Rennselaer on Nov. 25, 1981, to Judith Luttrell sho survives.
He was a construction worker at Midwest Ag. Inc. Monon, at the time of his death.
Surviving with his widow and parents are two sons, Jason David and Jeremy Patrick, at home; two grandmothers, Blanche Atkinson of Goodland and Mrs. Guy Warran of Indianola, Nev.; four sisters, Darlene Bullington, Remington, Carol Jenson, Rochester, Shirley Bramble, Rochester, and Donna Reynold, Remington; and three brothers, Larry of Highland, Ronald of Fort Wayne, and Steven of Pontiac, Ill.
Burial in Remington Cemetery.
