Claude L. Atkinson
A life-long resident of Spokane county, Claude Lee (Whitey) Atkinson, 52, N 711 Stone, died yesterday at a hospital.
Born in Deer Park, he came here with his family when he was 7 years old and had made his home here since. He was an employee of Walt Weller Excavating company.
A paratrooper during World War II, Mr. Atkinson saw combat action in the Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maxine M. Atkinson, at the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Phillips; a granddaughter, Shirley Kay Philips, and a cousin, William Atkinson, all of Spokane.
